Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
  • At least 10 years of related field experience in quality or continuous improvement within the power generation industry or a related industry is required.
  • Knowledge of processes in the power industry is required.
  • Detailed knowledge of quality systems and familiarity with ISO requirements are required.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action is required.
  • Proficiency with current personal computer technology and software used to create forms and documents is required.
  • The ability to work effectively with minimal supervision is required.
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities is required.
  • Effective organizational and communication skills are required.
  • A customer-focused approach and the ability to identify, analyze, and solve quality problems with practical solutions are required.
  • The ability to provide technical guidance on quality issues is required.
  • The ability to work in industrial and office environments and travel to field locations when required is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the strategic planning, development, and execution of quality assurance engineering programs.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional leaders to align quality objectives with business strategies and customer expectations.
  • Oversee the team that evaluates existing processes and identifies opportunities for quality or efficiency improvement.
  • Establish enterprise-wide policies, standards, and metrics.
  • Develop and monitor process changes intended to reduce cost or waste, improve productivity and customer satisfaction, and increase profitability.
  • Lead initiatives to improve quality performance and reduce defects, and track progress against established goals.
  • Recommend changes affecting floor layout, material flow, or machinery selection and use.
  • Direct compliance efforts with applicable regulations.
  • Represent quality functions in executive decision-making.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality systems and process optimization initiatives across operations.
  • Support and lead audits, strengthen internal controls, and collaborate with division leadership and teams to identify and select processes or projects for the continuous improvement initiative.
