Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Process customer returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Execute Return-to-Vendor and Return-to-Manufacturer processes, including documentation, packaging, and shipment preparation.
  • Coordinate vendor credits and replacements as required, following established guidelines.
  • Sort and disposition returned merchandise by restocking, returning, or disposing of it based on condition and policy.
  • Maintain accurate records of all return transactions and associated documentation.
  • Assist with receiving shipments, including unloading trucks and verifying merchandise against shipping documentation.
  • Process receiving paperwork and update inventory systems accurately.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly labeled, stored, and routed to the appropriate sales floor, backroom, or return-processing location.
  • Support inventory accuracy through routine checks and report discrepancies to leadership.
  • Generate and review standard reports related to returns, damaged goods, and inventory exceptions.
  • Coordinate with receiving and store teams to ensure efficient product flow.
  • Maintain organization of the backroom and return areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures related to material handling, hazardous materials, and equipment use.
  • Identify and properly handle hazardous or restricted items in accordance with guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Provide basic support for customer return inquiries when needed.
  • Communicate with vendors or manufacturers to facilitate returns, credits, or replacements following standard procedures.
  • Support Receiving Office administrative and logistical functions, including accurate record retention, confirmation of inbound and outbound truck schedules, and completion of daily and weekly operational reports.
  • Manage items that are out for repair, handle claims and inventory adjustments, and support receiver and stocker teams with truck unloading and purchase order processing as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Trump administration is refunding approximately $166 billion in tariff revenue after the Supreme Court struck down its sweeping tariff policy, having returned $100 billion so far. Despite studies showing consumers bore the brunt of initial tariff costs through higher prices, most companies are reinvesting the refunds rather than passing savings to shoppers. Retail executives indicated in earnings calls they plan to put the money back into their businesses. Consumers have filed class-action lawsuits against companies receiving refunds, but none have concluded. Americans have limited recourse to recover funds if companies don't voluntarily lower prices.

Lowe's CEO warns of cautious consumer spending amid macro and geopolitical uncertainty

Lowe's stock trades 27% below peak as DIY demand weakens despite strong cash flow
