  • Bachelor's degree in Education with an appropriate subject area.
  • Hold or be qualified to hold a North Carolina Professional Educator's License in a teaching content area.
  • Ability to use computers, scanners, fax machines, copiers, and classroom tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds as required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and provide appropriate classroom learning experiences for students.
  • Create an atmosphere conducive to students' intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • Supervise students in school-related settings.
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.
  • Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Develop, select, and modify instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
  • Maintain appropriate records and follow required procedures and practices.
  • Monitor the appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Use traditional and alternative assessment strategies aligned with WCPSS curriculum and standards to support continuous learner development.
  • Use effective communication techniques with students, parents, and stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous professional quality improvement for self, school, and district.
  • Use techniques and strategies that promote critical and creative thinking.
  • Implement classroom instructional strategies and materials reflecting each student's culture, learning styles, special needs, and socioeconomic background.
  • Establish and maintain a classroom management system that supports regulation, engagement, social interaction, cooperative learning, self-motivation, and students' intellectual, personal, and social development.
  • Plan, align, implement, and evaluate instruction and assessment in varied learning environments.
  • Collaborate with peers, parents, the community, and other stakeholders to improve students' classroom educational experiences.
  • Integrate appropriate technology into teaching and learning processes.
  • Ensure adherence to good safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
