Requirements
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • A high school diploma is required; a technical school diploma, associate degree, equivalent military training, or relevant experience supporting Navy combat systems, shipboard operations, fleet readiness, logistics, maintenance, or technical support environments is also acceptable.
  • Five years of experience providing similar support duties in a United States Navy Aegis or similar environment is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Internet Protocol Router access and comply with classified-system, releasability, disclosure, and security requirements.
  • Ability to work on-site at a government facility on a 12-hour rotational shift schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergent coverage as required; telework is not authorized.
  • Ability to provide timely, professional support over chat, email, and phone while accurately documenting requests in Information Technology Service Management or other designated ticketing tools.
  • Ability to read and follow Watch Orders, Temporary Watch Orders, Standard Operating Procedures, and direction from the 24/7 Team Lead or Readiness Response Operations Branch Manager.
  • Ability to maintain accurate shift turnover, ticketing, status reporting, and readiness documentation.
  • Basic computer literacy and data-entry skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Approximately 10% travel is required.

  • Ability to perform physical activities including prolonged standing and recurring walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing in industrial work areas, aboard ships or submarines, and in weapon facilities.
Responsibilities
  • Stand a formal 24/7 watch from a designated shore facility in support of Aegis Fleet Readiness and Distance Support operations.
  • Monitor and respond to fleet requests received through chat, email, and phone within established timelines and according to current Watch Orders, Temporary Watch Orders, Standard Operating Procedures, and Team Lead guidance.
  • Provide front-line customer service to Fleet units by receiving technical-assistance requests, conducting initial triage, and coordinating with the appropriate on-call Subject Matter Expert, Branch Manager, or technical stakeholder.
  • Generate, update, and maintain tickets in the Information Technology System Manager database or other designated support tools.
  • Conduct shift turnover and maintain continuity of watch operations across day and night watch sections.
  • Review message traffic, including CASREPs, CASUPs, and related readiness information, and update Combat Systems Fleet Readiness Status Charts and status files as required.
  • Prepare and distribute required daily reports for assigned night or day watch, including AEGISTT 24/7 Daily Reports and Ship Defense daily reports, as applicable.
  • Upload required report documentation to the classified AEGISTT 24/7 Distance Support website and maintain information accuracy according to established procedures.
  • Attend required training, maintain releasability and disclosure training, support Under Instruction watchstander training as assigned, and become TQS qualified within the required timeframe after obtaining Secret Internet Protocol Router access.
  • Provide bid and proposal support when requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior United States Navy, combat systems, Aegis, shipboard operations, fleet readiness, technical support, or watchstanding experience.
  • Experience reviewing CASREPs, CASUPs, readiness-status information, or operational message traffic.
  • Experience coordinating technical assistance with Subject Matter Experts, waterfront stakeholders, Fleet units, or program and engineering support teams.
  • Experience using Information Technology Service Management systems, ticketing systems, readiness databases, SharePoint or classified websites, or other operational support tools.
  • Current or prior Secret Internet Protocol Router access and familiarity with classified reporting environments.
  • Ability to become TQS qualified within three months of obtaining a Secret Internet Protocol Router account.
