Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Registered Nurse Nursing program.
  • Hold a Registered Nurse license in the State of Nebraska.
  • Hold certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Responsibilities
  • Provide prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients in Acute Care.
  • Provide assessment and planning for individualized patient care.
  • Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.
  • Use the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes.
  • Assess patients by collecting and documenting their current health status and medical history, making accurate and ongoing assessments, and responding appropriately.
  • Set priorities for nursing action according to patient needs and formulate plans of care covering patient education, discharge planning, and physiological, psychological, psychosocial, and environmental factors.
  • Administer and monitor intravenous solutions and medications, start peripheral lines, and maintain central lines.
  • Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with physician orders using appropriate technical skills and within a timely manner.
  • Provide personal patient care that addresses patient comfort and physiological and psychological needs.
  • Document patient assessments and care, including nursing interventions, patient responses, needs, problems, abilities, limitations, and progress toward goals.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other health team members regarding patient condition, nursing plans of care, patient satisfaction needs, and recommendations for achieving identified outcomes.
  • Promote and ensure patient safety while performing all responsibilities.
  • Supervise other healthcare team members according to agency, state, and federal requirements.
  • Use problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with peers.

  • Experience in Labor & Delivery is preferred.
