  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, and IATF 16949 requirements is required to support project launches and quality systems.
  • Ability to manage safety activities, policies, training, injuries, and corrective actions is required.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and track Quality department goals and objectives.
  • Determine Quality department standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain product Quality Standards.
  • Track external customer Quality issues, including concerns, rejections, PPM, and 8D problem solving.
  • Track internal customer Quality issues, including Rejection Tags and Process Alerts.
  • Track supplier Quality issues and performance.
  • Work with corporate personnel to support customers.
  • Support plant safety procedures and safety policies.
  • Direct lab personnel regarding performance and material testing.
  • Allocate Quality resources to project teams, programs, and manufacturing process improvement teams.
  • Assist in the daily review of production quality performance.
  • Assist Production and Maintenance in achieving effective and efficient production of quality parts.
  • Schedule and chair regular Quality Review meetings and apprise management of Quality Department issues to ensure the suitability and effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Work with Engineering to develop project launch strategy, capital needs, and program timing in support of APQP, PPAP, MSA, and IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Work with Quality Engineers and Technicians to document quality trends and compare them against customer standards and plant goals.
  • Support advanced Quality activities, elements, and schedules.
  • Represent the Carey plant to customers in the area of Quality.
  • Develop short- and long-term strategy to support customer requirements, as required.
  • Manage safety as an equal to other key functions.
  • Monitor departmental action items to ensure timely and effective correction of issues.
  • Hold supervisors and employees accountable for safety activities.
  • Support safety training and ensure personnel attend.
  • Maintain knowledge of injuries and corrective actions taken.
  • Deliver department and assigned plant KPI reports.
  • Prepare the plant-level monthly Quality Report for the Director of Quality.
  • Develop the overall Quality department goals and plan.
  • Conduct annual employee performance reviews.
  • Maintain customer issues and corrective actions logs.
  • Maintain Process Alert and nonconformance Rejection logs.
