Fortinet and ServiceNow plunge 22% and 27% as Wall Street stops excusing soft guidance

Fortinet shareholders who held from the start of the year are up 137.5%, including dividends. The shares cost $79.41 then and trade at $185 now. The Q2 2026 report showed revenue of $2,047.9m and net income of $606.3m. Net margin rose from 27.0% to 29.6%, which backed the bullish view that integrated platforms and recurring services lift profitability. The bull case put fair value at $90.32, assuming 13.1% annual revenue growth. The bear case said $70.25, expecting 9.8% growth and margins falling to 23.9%. At a price-to-earnings ratio near 60, the current price assumes AI data centre spending stays strong. A slowdown in that spending is the key risk.
