Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in an applicable engineering field is required.
  • At least 15 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment projects is required.
  • Experience developing water treatment facilities, including facility evaluations and audits, design basis development, technology evaluations and selection, treatability testing and technology demonstrations, project development, and project management is required.
  • The ability to interface with clients, network, and develop business is required.
  • The ability to attract, hire, and develop staff to build a water and wastewater practice is required.
  • Experience with budgetary cost estimates and project budgeting is required.
  • Experience with wastewater treatment plant performance evaluations, audits, optimization, data management and ongoing operations data review, standard operating procedure development, operator training, startup assistance, troubleshooting or upset response, and authoring reports and permit applications is required.
  • Texas Water Operator's license or licenses are required or expected for the operations responsibilities.
Responsibilities
  • Develop a group of engineers and scientists to conduct water and wastewater projects.
  • Direct business development efforts to bring in new clients and expand work with existing clients.
  • Manage projects involving municipal and private-sector manufacturing water and wastewater systems, including water treatment plants, pumping stations, water storage tanks, biological and physical or chemical wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, sewer interceptors, and collection systems.
  • Direct and mentor junior staff on design parameters, plant layout, project integration, and regulatory criteria.
  • Interact with clients, contractors, local government officials, state government officials, and regulators throughout conceptual and design phases, regulatory review, bidding, construction, and project completion.
  • Participate in networking and client development.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in an applicable engineering field is a plus.
  • A Texas Professional Engineer license is preferred as stated with the qualifications.
