Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and oversight of soccer programs in conjunction with the Recreation Center, including facilities, special events, classes, field trips, camps, leagues, and tournaments.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed for open gym and soccer programs.
  • Contact athletic directors and coaches of girls' and boys' soccer teams to encourage participation in programs.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with area soccer coaches.
  • Coordinate referees needed for each league.
  • Obtain and order T-shirt designs for league play.
  • Submit gym-use dates, food and beverage needs, and team calendars with event, cost, and marketing information to the Fitness and Recreation management team at least one month in advance.
  • Review lesson plans and age groups with the Recreation and Fitness management team.
  • Prepare approved lesson plans for distribution to additional staff.
  • Provide registration and promotional information to the Marketing Department at least four weeks before events.
  • Coordinate team ages, uniforms, prices, and staffing needs with the Recreation and Fitness management team.
  • Find coaches for each team and run parent meetings.
  • Ensure teams post lesson plans for practices.
  • Secure registration monies before league play begins.
  • Coordinate home and away games with other teams.
  • Manage soccer open gym times, including tracking statistics, collecting and entering guest passes into the kiosk, maintaining order, handling disturbances, and requesting additional staff as appropriate.
  • Develop and launch Futsal and Futsal Jr. programs, including advertising, filling open slots, collecting fees, scheduling referees, creating schedules, coordinating event staff, ordering uniforms or shirts when needed, and providing event information for kiosk entry.
  • Collect member fees for adult leagues.
  • Assist with all aspects of opening and closing activities at Kroc Park.
  • Perform other duties deemed necessary and appropriate by the Fitness and Recreation Management Team.
