What believers are saying

  • Sept. 30, 2026 Schneider and Wärtsilä partnership positions Stanley inside AI power demand.
  • April 2026 Army contracts and BHDG joint ventures broaden federal backlog and repeat work.
  • June 22, 2026 Chris Yunker hire deepens resiliency services, matching climate-driven infrastructure spending.

What critics are saying

  • Stanley still depends on project-based contracts; one delayed Army award can stall revenue.
  • Generator-to-Chip ties Stanley to data-center power buildouts; hyperscaler capex freezes hit quickly.
  • No public moat protects Stanley from Jacobs, Burns & McDonnell, and AECOM on resilience work.

What makes Stanley Consultants unique

  • Sept. 30, 2026 Generator-to-Chip bundles Stanley's engineering, permitting, and commissioning expertise for data centers.
  • Stanley's employee-owned, privately held structure supports long-term client relationships over quarterly public-market pressure.
  • Its 110-plus-year history and cross-sector practice span energy, water, transportation, and federal infrastructure.

Wärtsilä, Schneider Electric, and Stanley Consultants launch coordinated approach for faster US data center power delivery.

Wärtsilä, Schneider Electric, and Stanley Consultants launch coordinated approach for faster US data center power delivery. Coordinated 'generator-to-chip' approach integrates onsite generation, electrical infrastructure, and engineering to help data center customers streamline development and save time compared to traditional delivery models October 10, 2026 Technology group Wärtsilä, Schneider Electric, and Stanley Consultants have developed an innovative 'generator-to-chip' approach to help US data center developers and operators bring scalable power capacity online faster. Designed around the AI load, the approach aligns onsite power generation, electrical infrastructure, automation, engineering, and project execution from the outset. By connecting the power pathway from generation and electrical distribution to digital monitoring and the IT load, the approach reduces handoffs, improves coordination across critical interfaces and provides greater execution certainty. The combined approach can accelerate project schedules compared to traditional, sequential delivery models. Driven by accelerating investment in AI, demand for new data center capacity is growing rapidly across the United States. At the same time, lengthy grid interconnection timelines and delays in critical power infrastructure are slowing projects and increasing the need for coordinated solutions that can deliver dependable power where and when it is needed. Wärtsilä provides flexible, modular engine power plants that can deliver reliable onsite power generation, start rapidly and scale as data center demand grows. Schneider Electric contributes the integrated electrical architecture, automation and digital power management that coordinate power from generation to the AI load. Stanley Consultants provides technical and advisory services across the data center lifecycle, including engineering, permitting, design coordination, construction management, commissioning oversight and climate resilience expertise. From left, Melton Chang, executive vice president, power systems, Schneider Electric; Risto Paldanius, vice president, Americas, Wärtsilä Energy; and Tom Mergen, vice president and business development leader, Stanley Consultants "For many data center projects, power has become the schedule. Developers need reliable solutions that can be planned, built and delivered at the pace that AI growth demands. This innovative, integrated approach marks a significant step forward: by bringing our complementary capabilities together from the outset, we can simplify execution, reduce handoffs and shorten timelines. "Most importantly, it gives customers a faster, clearer path from project planning to operational capacity," said Risto Paldanius, vice president, Americas, Wärtsilä Energy. "AI growth is increasing the scale and speed required of data center power infrastructure," said Melton Chang, executive vice president, Power Systems at Schneider Electric. "An AI Energy Park starts with the load and coordinates generation, electrical infrastructure, automation and digital technologies as one system. This gives developers a scalable, grid-flexible path to bring high-density AI capacity online faster." "We are delighted to be part of a team that is focused on meeting our client's business outcomes and community needs," said Lance Sulzen, vice president and energy market leader at Stanley Consultants. "Integrated solutions help deliver functional, resilient, and scalable facilities effectively and efficiently. Taking a collaborative delivery approach helps us better identify risks, streamline interfaces, and improve delivery confidence from concept to commissioning." Wärtsilä, Schneider Electric, and Stanley Consultants collectively bring expertise in power generation, electrical distribution, digital control, and project execution that is relevant to modern data center development. Together, these capabilities demonstrate how data center operators can address requirements for speed, reliability, scalability and operational flexibility across grid-connected, islanded and hybrid configurations.
