One year of related position experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect specimens from patients of all age populations with minimal patient impact.
Process and allocate laboratory specimens and orders from all sources.
Verify proper patient and specimen identification and confirm the appropriateness of specimens and accompanying orders.
Organize laboratory workflow and prioritize the processing and distribution of specimens.
Use requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test requests, accession and correctly label specimens, and deliver them to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames.
Perform specified procedures within the scope of established testing methods and responsibilities.
Perform and document routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment, and troubleshoot as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Overview

The Clinical Services Technician collects specimens on all age populations as assigned with minimal patient impact. Performs specified procedures within scope of established testing methods and responsibilities. Performs and appropriately documents routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoots as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
