About the job

Requirements
  • At least 7 years of product management experience owning a customer-facing app, workflow, or experience product, ideally at a high-growth business-to-business software-as-a-service company.
  • Demonstrate an outcome-first track record by explaining examples end to end, including the metric owned, its starting point, decisions made or passed on, and the outcome for the customer and business.
  • Experience building workflows for professional users who work through a queue, at both single-site and enterprise scale, with a perspective on permissions and configurability that avoids product fragmentation.
  • Experience treating onboarding, activation, and support as product surfaces, and turning an underused feature into one customers rely on.
  • Commercial instinct and close familiarity with deals, including identifying product gaps that lose deals and distinguishing demo-winning features from those that retain customers.
  • Technical fluency with workflow-focused product work, including reasoning about data models and integration tradeoffs and answering questions using SQL; sufficient technical depth to assess feasibility.
Responsibilities
  • Own the Practice Experience app, its workflows, and customer experience from onboarding through daily use for single-location practices, groups, dental service organizations, and outsourced billing companies.
  • Own customer onboarding configuration and defaults, the speed at which customers connect their practice management systems and reach value, and in-product guidance that replaces training calls.
  • Own the user experience when synchronization breaks or data appears incorrect, and use recurring support volume as a product signal to address underlying causes.
  • Improve staff workflows for finding accounts, understanding balances, prioritizing attention, taking action, and trusting the information presented; make manual work faster and build automation and products that eliminate unnecessary work.
  • Determine which product capabilities generalize across customer operating models, which remain configurable, and which should not be built.
  • Conduct discovery with users and business stakeholders, participate in enough sales deals to identify product gaps that cost wins, own workflow design, pressure-test builds before release, and drive adoption with Sales, Customer Success, and Implementation.
  • Own product outcomes across acquiring new practices and dental service organizations, reducing time to value and expanding locations, deepening return on investment and usage of existing products, and building products customers buy and adopt.
  • Diagnose product performance with the analytics product manager and Sales, and translate what is working or not working into product decisions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in dental, healthcare, revenue cycle management, or a similar field.
  • Background in payments, billing, or consumer checkout experiences.
  • Experience with multi-location, multi-tenant, or agency-style customers where one organization administers many accounts.
  • Experience building a user-facing product on top of another party’s models or intelligence layer, with a clear perspective on safe autonomy and when a human should remain involved.

About the company

Pearly provides revenue cycle automation software for dental practices. It automates patient billing, accounts receivable collection, membership and payment plans, and sends digital statements. The system uses smart workflow automations to manage these financial processes, reducing time spent on billing and increasing collection rates. It targets both large DSOs and private practices, sold on a subscription basis as software-as-a-service. A key feature is pre-collection letters that are deployed in the billing outreach to reduce write-offs and avoid balances going to collections. Pearly’s aim is to help dental practices run their finances more efficiently and improve cash flow by automating and optimizing revenue cycles.
