About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience may offset the educational requirement.
- Current license or certification and/or specialized skills in at least one trade, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, or fire protection.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, organization, and customer-service skills.
- General understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, and workplace safety requirements.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 55 pounds and working indoors and outdoors.
- Successful completion of required background and drug screening.
- Lead, train, and provide direction to the maintenance team.
- Oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, work orders, apartment turnovers, and daily maintenance operations.
- Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment, and common areas.
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs involving building systems and trades.
- Maintain the maintenance shop, tools, supplies, equipment, and inventory.
- Coordinate contractors and assist with property inspections.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and promptly address unsafe conditions.
- Partner with the Community Manager to keep the property operating efficiently.
- Participate in on-call and after-hours emergency coverage as required.
- Previous commercial or multi-unit residential property maintenance experience.
