  • Serve as the accounting bridge to the Finance team and ensure forecast assumptions reflect the accounting records.
  • Own the company's revenue recognition policy and its application across subscription, implementation, professional services, variable, and usage-based contract components; document judgments and apply the policy consistently.
  • Lead the annual financial statement audit and interim review procedures, manage auditor relationships, coordinate evidence preparation, keep the audit on schedule, and respond to auditor findings and management letter comments.
  • Design, document, and maintain internal controls for a private-equity-backed software-as-a-service company, including segregation of duties, approval workflows, and access controls; monitor compliance and address control gaps.
  • Research and document the accounting treatment of complex or non-routine transactions, including lease accounting (ASC 842), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), business combinations (ASC 805), and debt instruments; prepare supporting memoranda.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments, customer invoices that reflect contract terms, active collections, clean receivables aging, and alignment between recorded revenue and cash collected.
  • Partner with People & Culture to ensure timely, accurate payroll compliant with multi-state payroll tax requirements, and ensure payroll journal entries and reconciliations are completed during the close.
  • Own accounting systems, including enterprise resource planning, expense management, and billing integrations; identify and implement improvements that reduce manual effort, improve data integrity, and support scalability.
