Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • DoD 8140 certification such as Security+ or higher.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Three to eight years of experience, primarily in data center infrastructure operations support and server administration in a mid-sized environment with 200 to 1,000 or more server systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following areas: power capacity allocation for high- and low-density racks; incident management and resolution during outages; systems administration for Linux and/or Windows servers; and networking, including DNS and TCP/IP.
  • Understanding of data center design, commissioning, operations best practices, and their application.
  • Examples of process improvement execution.
  • Ability to investigate system or process details to solve customer problems.
  • Strong adherence to process and ability to champion processes.
  • Strong influencing skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct management.
  • Experience supporting large enterprise customers in an operations environment.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain the operational health of data center and interconnect infrastructure within access-controlled facilities.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, connectivity, and infrastructure issues; support break-fix activities; participate in project deployments; maintain accurate technical documentation; and escalate issues to appropriate resolver groups.
  • Support infrastructure installations, secure equipment handling, circuit-related activities, asset management, site documentation, and operational readiness.
  • Travel regionally to support edge infrastructure during major deployments, infrastructure upgrades, site activations, or high-severity incident response when required.
  • Oversee lifecycle management for servers and components, set standards for diagnosis, replacement, and performance validation, and prevent impact to critical workloads.
  • Coach teams on advanced power distribution practices and complex hardware interventions, and validate that work meets reliability, safety, and service-level objectives.
  • Lead planning, risk assessment, and execution governance for large-scale network builds and migrations, and validate architecture, cabling, and end-to-end connectivity.
  • Define acceptance criteria and sign-off gates for network changes, and ensure interoperability and error-free integration with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Own the escalation queue and trend analysis, direct complex investigations, establish fix-forward plans, and ensure high-quality resolution documentation within service-level agreements.
  • Shape ticket taxonomy, triage playbooks, and automation triggers to improve response consistency and speed.
  • Govern adherence to standard and method-of-procedure documents and site rules for high-risk work, align activities with physical security procedures, local regulations, and audit requirements, and verify functional testing of security controls.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation, audit trails, and change records; prepare for and lead compliance reviews and remediations.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and enterprise-level root-cause analyses, socialize learnings, and implement durable design and process changes that reduce fleet-wide risk.
  • Partner with engineering to mitigate availability risks, reduce single points of failure, and improve observability and alert fidelity.
  • Mentor technicians and specialists, set expectations for execution quality, safety, and customer focus, and build capability through training and coaching.
  • Influence staffing and readiness plans for on-call and peak events, and model inclusive practices and cross-team collaboration.
  • Drive completion of complex or ambiguous work areas in accordance with broad project requirements and provide leadership to team members on shifting priorities and resources.
  • Collaborate across lines of business to lead delivery of impactful work and support critical team objectives.
  • Develop and share procedures to identify and resolve complex issues, serving as the final non-managerial escalation point for the team.
  • Collect and review data or information to troubleshoot the most complex errors.
  • Seek to expand knowledge, learn new skills and tools, and stay current with trends and best practices.
  • Recommend, implement, and share strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of complex processes, protocols, and workflows for the team and other teams.
