About the Company

raSmith

Surveys land and designs roads and developments

raSmith designs roads, land developments, parks, and stormwater systems for local governments and private developers, with civil and structural engineers, land surveyors, landscape architects, and ecologists in one firm. That mix lets a single team carry a project from the first site survey to finished construction. Its public clients include Wisconsin's transportation department, which hires it for highway design and to acquire land for road projects. Crews map sites with 3D laser scanners and drones, draw the plans, and inspect the work as contractors build it. Founded in 1978, raSmith is based in Brookfield, Wisconsin, and has offices elsewhere in Wisconsin and in Illinois and California.
