Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and by email with students' parents.
- Must be available to work at least 5 hours per week.
- Must commit to at least 12 months.
- Must be personable and able to connect with students and their parents.
- Must be flexible and easy-going.
- Must be responsive and prompt.
- Must have a passion for teaching others.
- Must be willing to learn and be coached.
Responsibilities
- Work virtually one-on-one with college and high school students to help them become successful in school and life.
- Teach students executive-function and academic skills.
- Teach methods for planning and managing time, prioritizing, becoming more organized, and processing information through note-taking, studying, and reading.
- Create strong relationships with students, increase their confidence, and help them overcome challenges.
Desired Qualifications
- A master's degree or enrollment in graduate school is preferred.
- Experience working with students in grades 9–12 and college, preferably students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, or other learning struggles.
- Candidates currently working toward becoming psychologists, social workers, counselors, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, special education teachers, or general education teachers are preferred.
