  • Is familiar with cardiovascular tests and the duties related to them.
  • Has working knowledge of computers, telephones, faxing, copying, scanning, and scheduling cardiology patients.
  • Has knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Can use the electronic medical record system.
  • Knows how to place leads and electrodes.
  • Is knowledgeable about unit safety plans.
  • Has satisfactory completion of formal specific training in an approved Imaging Technology Program relevant to the assigned modality.
  • Requires current registration with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging.
  • Requires American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification at the date of hire.
  • Requires American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification.
  • Requires current ARRT (R) certification.
  • Must obtain Image Wisely and Image Gently pledge certificates within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Prior cardiovascular laboratory experience is required.
  • Can stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
  • Possesses physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond appropriately to unexpected patient-care needs.
  • Has adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision.
  • Possesses fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and the ability to grasp and handle objects.
  • Can use proper body mechanics to assist patients with ambulation and transfers.
  • May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must use standard and other isolation precautions due to exposure risks from blood, bodily fluids, or infectious diseases.
  • Can communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or by telephone.
Responsibilities
  • Uses specialized equipment to assist the physician during invasive procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Provides patient care during cardiovascular services procedures.
  • Performs assigned duties related to cardiovascular tests.
  • Schedules cardiology patients.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school graduation or equivalent is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Additional advanced certification is preferred for Cardiovascular Services Technologist II or III roles.
  • Three years of relevant experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a hospital setting is preferred.
