Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge and passion for open science, FAIR research principles, and research data management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of web development and content management.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing and shifting priorities.
  • Comfort handling ambiguity.
  • Must be comfortable working in a laboratory environment and working with and/or transporting laptops and data media.
Responsibilities
  • Curate scientific data, including clinical data elements, biospecimen and experimental metadata, and raw and derived experimental data generated by laboratory members.
  • Manage data on institutional and cloud storage resources.
  • Maintain scientific websites that explain the laboratory mission and provide access to specific types of data.
  • Contribute to grant and manuscript writing.
  • Participate in training laboratory members.
  • Attend scientific conferences.
  • Manage day-to-day tasks and consult the team on complex scenarios as appropriate.
  • Work with the data management team, the senior-level data manager, the director of software engineering, faculty members, and laboratory leadership.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A master's degree in library/information science or equivalent.
  • A biology and/or information science background.
  • Software scripting and coding skills.
  • Previous experience in a biomedical research environment.
  • Experience in an academic library or biomedical research setting.
  • Strong interest in building relationships and managing by influence within a dynamic academic environment.
  • Comfort learning new skills and maintaining a growth mindset.
