Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
  • Experience preparing financial reports.
  • Experience using automated accounting and/or management reporting systems.
  • Experience preparing, analyzing and interpreting financial and/or statistical data.
  • Experience using and developing workpapers, schedules and models with spreadsheet software such as Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to research and analyze complex financial data.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial analyses and research to support timely management decisions and financial reports or statements.
  • Perform tasks necessary to ensure data integrity within financial systems.
  • Analyze and evaluate the financial impact of decisions or transactions on financial results.
  • Interact with other departments and management to provide timely follow-up to inquiries and requests for financial data.
  • Interpret results and provide recommendations for appropriate action plans.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models.
  • Prepare and present written and oral reports and documents.
  • Support internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries and implementing recommended changes.
  • Coordinate, test and document system changes or upgrades.
  • Represent finance on corporate teams and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain job documentation and procedures.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the Property and Casualty Insurance industry and related concepts.
  • Knowledge of premium taxes.
  • Knowledge of sales and use taxes.
  • Knowledge of property taxes.
  • Knowledge of 1099 reporting.
  • Knowledge of the Workday financial reporting system and Office Connect.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws.
  • Experience working within a corporate tax department and/or CPA firm.
  • Experience preparing sales and use tax returns and analyzing sales and use tax data.
  • Experience preparing property tax returns and assisting in audits.
  • Experience analyzing 1099 data and preparing 1099 reports.
  • Experience preparing premium tax returns and estimates.
  • Experience developing spreadsheets and workpapers and using Microsoft Office and Office Connect.
  • Experience performing tax research.
  • Experience preparing corporate and state income tax returns.
  • Experience completing income tax workpapers for income tax provisions and tax returns.
  • Experience using corporate income tax return preparation software.
