Requirements
  • The position requires an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is required by the U.S. Government.
  • Understand the basics of Linux administration, including Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu, and Windows operating system administration.
  • Have experience with business and engineering applications such as Microsoft Office, MATLAB, Visual Studio, VMware, and other scientific or engineering applications.
  • Have problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work and meet customer demands and deadlines.
  • Have customer-service and interpersonal skills and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Support senior administrators in implementing, deploying, and maintaining Linux and Windows operating systems in traditional and virtualized environments across a variety of hardware solutions.
  • Support Information Systems Security Managers, Information System Security Officers, senior management, researchers, and other team members with customer requirements.
  • Run vulnerability and compliance scanning tools and remediate findings.
  • Perform monthly patching of offline Windows and Linux assets.
  • Research and procure hardware and software components required to complete tasks.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software licenses.
  • Perform hands-on desktop-level diagnostics, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
  • Create and maintain end-user documentation for operating procedures.
  • Configure and maintain NAS storage, networking, firewalls, and directory services, including Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
  • Perform performance monitoring, analyze results, enhance performance, and automate processes using PowerShell scripting and other available technologies.
  • Provide daily lab support, systems maintenance, problem resolution, tracing, and project support.
  • Create and maintain installation and configuration standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Department of Defense security and technical guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Provide support for production and development environments.
  • Assist with desktop support service requests involving scanners, copiers, printers, phones, and phone services.
  • Provide ad-hoc travel and after-hours support for information systems maintenance, patching, and remediation.
