Responsibilities
  • Architect, build, and scale operational frameworks, architectural patterns, and data pipelines to control AI costs, optimize token usage, and enforce governance.
  • Design and implement complex architectural solutions using cloud design principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Build an enterprise-wide framework for tracking LLM token consumption across AWS (Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker) and Azure (Azure OpenAI and AI Studio).
  • Define and implement real-time rate limiting, token throttling, and multi-cloud model-routing policies to control costs.
  • Define AI-specific unit metrics, such as cost per successful inference and revenue per million tokens, to measure business return on investment.
  • Lead complex cost-benefit modeling and map it to business key performance indicators.
  • Educate the team on designing and implementing architectures based on FinOps best practices.
  • Provide hands-on technical coaching to accelerate cloud learning across the Cloud Center of Excellence.
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure design, development, and delivery incorporate FinOps principles for continued cost optimization.
  • Develop strategies and steps to incorporate FinOps data and practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cloud service providers and FinOps tool vendors to mature FinOps capabilities and increase adoption by implementing cost-optimization solutions and shifting work left.
  • Design and develop data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from AWS and Azure cloud service providers into actionable insights.
  • Configure and administer FinOps tools and implement new tooling, including integrations with Azure and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes.
  • Consult with incoming and onboarded application and business teams to ensure solutions incorporate FinOps principles, optimize costs, and address gaps.
  • Help define additional technical FinOps roles, including reviewing profiles, assisting with interviews, and helping select candidates.
  • Optimize and fine-tune data workflows for performance and reliability.

  • Automate cost-management workflows, including anomaly detection and billing adjustments.
  • Work with engineering teams to automate operational cost-optimization practices.
  • Advise engineering, product, finance, and procurement teams on FinOps and cloud financial management.
  • Stay current with AWS and Azure cloud technologies and industry best practices to improve data engineering processes.
Desired Qualifications
  • Be a Certified FinOps Professional with a track record of building chargeback and data-quality frameworks from scratch.
  • Have deep knowledge of AWS Cost & Usage Report, Azure Consumption Sheets, Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, Azure OpenAI, and Azure AI Studio.
  • Have a deep understanding of LLM application architecture, including tokenizers, vector databases, API gateways, and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex.
