- The candidate must be able to execute accessibility and search engine optimization best practices.
- The candidate must be able to use the Advanced Custom Fields WordPress plugin.
- The candidate must be able to perform cross-browser compatibility tests and resolve resulting bugs.
- The candidate must be adept at developing custom WordPress themes from Figma design files.
- The candidate must be able to collaborate with user experience and user interface web designers and backend developers to bridge graphical design and technical implementation.
- The candidate must be able to optimize applications for speed and scalability.
- The candidate must communicate positively and honestly and demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliability.
- The candidate must be willing and able to learn new technologies and self-teach when needed.
- The candidate must develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch rather than use existing templates or page builders.
Responsibilities
- The role spearheads development of unique, custom WordPress themes and plugins for clients while continuing backend coding.
- The role transforms completed designs into live, interactive web experiences with clean code.
- The role supports clean-code practices on the team.
- The role acts as a technical advisor to clients alongside the Director of Engineering.
- The role builds responsive websites and iterates through cross-browser compatibility issues and bugs.
- The role collaborates with user experience and user interface web designers and backend developers to complete projects, websites, platforms, and other web experiences.
- The role optimizes applications for speed and scalability.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with statements of work, requests for proposals, or other pre-sales activity.
- Experience with Angular, React, or other JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with vanilla JavaScript, ECMAScript 6/ECMAScript 2015, and Gutenberg blocks.
- Experience with the Laravel PHP framework and other backend technologies such as CodeIgniter and Node.js.
- Ability to use a task runner such as Gulp, Grunt, or Webpack to generate website assets.
- Experience developing with a JavaScript compiler such as Babel to generate cross-browser-compatible JavaScript code.
- Testing experience.
- At least three years of agency experience.
