  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required
  • Current CPR Certificate required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Assists with provision of care that includes treatment, teaching and counseling.
  • Recognizes and interprets symptoms of patient’s conditions and reports to appropriate health care provider.
  • Provides direct nursing services to patients and their families. These services include, but are not exclusive to: a) nursing assessment b) nursing intervention/referral c) health care education d) Assesses patients’ needs based upon evaluation of current functioning and strengths, review of previous health/medical plan of care, and medications. This includes support system being utilized, vocational status, and identification of any special needs (i.e. physical, emotional, or substance abuse/psychiatric history)
  • Able to Prepare patients for examination: a) completes history, reviews systems , and current physical health status b) takes B/P, weight, height, temperature, other measurements and/or vitals as appropriate to complete health assessment c) performs vision and hearing screenings if appropriate d) obtains urine, sputum specimens as appropriate e) complete laboratory /radiology imaging reconciliation f) administers appropriate immunizations and injections
  • Maintains clinical logs for central area
  • Develops a system for summarizing clinical and laboratory data for evaluation and planning purposes, and quality assurance
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of educational programs for patients and families to increase awareness of relevant medical conditions, decrease risk-behaviors, and increase responsibility for self-care.
  • Attends and participates in in-service education programs for staff, quality assurance programs, and risk-management programs

Lowell Community Health Center appoints Tom Murphy as Chief Financial Officer. February 11, 2026 Lowell Community Health Center today announced the appointment of Tom Murphy as Chief Financial Officer, following his service as Interim CFO since July 2025. Murphy brings extensive financial and operational experience to the role, supporting the organization's ongoing work and priorities. During his time as Interim CFO, he worked closely with the finance and executive teams, providing steady leadership and oversight across the health center's financial systems. Prior to serving as Interim CFO, Murphy was Senior Director of Finance at Lowell Community Health Center. His collaborative leadership style and ability to manage complex financial work while keeping teams informed and supported have played an important role in supporting the organization's ongoing operations. "Tom stepped into the Interim CFO role with a clear understanding of our financial operations," said Susan West Levine, Chief Executive Officer of Lowell Community Health Center. "His experience, judgement, and consistency have been evident in his work with our finance and leadership teams. Over the past several months, Tom has earned the trust of our teams through his thoughtful approach and his commitment to keeping our work grounded and moving forward.
