Requirements
  • An active Licensed Practical Nurse license in Tennessee is required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • The candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
  • The candidate must have clinical judgment and organizational skills.
  • The candidate must be willing to work with youth in challenging situations.
  • The candidate must be able to lift or move up to 20 pounds and provide necessary physical services to clients.
  • The candidate must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state, to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law.
  • The candidate must be able to transport clients.
  • The candidate must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver's license.
  • The candidate must meet state criminal background check requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and monitor clients for reactions or side effects.
  • Conduct intake physical health assessments and screenings.
  • Document medical histories and maintain accurate health records.
  • Provide basic first aid and support emergency medical situations.
  • Collaborate with doctors, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health staff.
  • Communicate with guardians, case managers, and outside agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with state health regulations and treatment protocols.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience working in behavioral health, pediatrics, or juvenile residential care is preferred.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation standards is preferred.
