- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment are required.
- Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to achieve intended objectives.
- Ability to read and use quality-control tools, including vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures.
- Understanding of lean and 6S safety in a manufacturing environment.
- Good computer skills.
- Apply knowledge of high-precision machining, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
- Set up and operate manual machines, including engine lathes and vertical turret lathes, to produce precision parts and instruments.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, engineering specifications, work orders, and production schedules.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics and measuring instruments.
- Inspect finished products and completed units for quality, defects, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and team members to develop new products or improve existing ones.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to assemble, weld, fabricate, and finish parts.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machine work.
- Modify cutting programs to address operating problems and save modified programs.
- Start and run machines, monitor operations, and record operational data.
- Adjust machine speeds and actions according to product specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Support other shop areas as needed.
