- Enrollment in an undergraduate program with a focus on Public Health, Social Work, Food Justice, or a relevant field.
- Strong interest in nonprofit fundraising, program development, or food security.
- Strong research, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Conduct proactive fundraising research focused on food security, nutrition access, and community-based food programs.
- Identify and track foundation, corporate, and government funding opportunities, including deadlines, eligibility criteria, and funding priorities.
- Maintain and update fundraising research trackers, calendars, and prospect lists.
- Support the program development team with early-stage grant preparation, including summarizing requests for proposals, drafting opportunity briefs, and compiling background materials.
- Monitor seasonal funding trends and help anticipate upcoming opportunities, particularly during peak summer grant cycles.
- Assist with additional food security fundraising tasks as needed, including data gathering, impact research, and donor landscape analysis.
- Familiarity with social justice, food access, or community-based programs.
