Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of experience in enterprise business-to-business software-as-a-service sales, with a strong track record in hunting, closing, and owning complex sales cycles and consistently achieving or exceeding quota.
  • Experience selling to enterprise customers in the United States market, with an existing network or demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to own every stage of the sales process, from building pipeline through closing complex enterprise opportunities, including prospecting and negotiating.
  • Ability to identify target accounts and decision-makers, create conversations, and build pipeline through outbound activity, relationships, referrals, and a personal network.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively solve problems, remove blockers, involve leadership when appropriate, and maintain structured pipeline management, qualification, forecasting, and deal progression.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, facilitate executive conversations, negotiate effectively, and build trust throughout long enterprise buying cycles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Product, Marketing, Customer Success, and Technology.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, preferably in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Build the United States market from the ground up by developing and executing an account strategy for acquiring enterprise freight forwarders and prioritizing high-value segments, accounts, and decision-makers.
  • Own the full sales cycle by prospecting, qualifying, conducting discovery, understanding customer operations and pain points, demonstrating Portcast solutions, managing trials, negotiating, and closing.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across freight forwarding organizations, including commercial and operations leaders, procurement, and other technology and margin-improvement decision-makers.
  • Develop expertise in freight forwarder operations, shipments, exceptions, freight costs, procurement, and margins, and connect those problems to Portcast's value.
  • Create pipeline through targeted outbound activity, personal networks, industry relationships, account research, events, referrals, and other creative approaches.
  • Capture United States market learnings, identify patterns across successful deals, and continuously improve positioning, qualification, sales, and closing processes.
  • Work closely with Marketing and Product to provide customer and market intelligence that improves messaging, sales assets, product positioning, and understanding of the United States market.
  • Work closely with Customer Success to ensure smooth customer handoff from sale and trial into implementation and long-term value.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline, provide accurate forecasting, and communicate what is working, what is not, and where support is needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling to freight forwarders or logistics service providers.
  • Genuine curiosity about supply chains and the ability to quickly develop credibility with enterprise buyers.
  • Experience working in startup environments with high ownership and evolving structure.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions, understand operational challenges, and position solutions around business outcomes rather than product features.

What believers are saying

  • Portcast launched Cost Management on May 21, 2026, expanding beyond visibility.
  • July 9, 2026 Risk Intelligence updates added more risks, API access, proactive alerts.
  • Weekly port congestion snapshots and Q2 2026 transit reports drive recurring inbound demand.

What critics are saying

  • project44, FourKites, and Shippeo dwarf Portcast’s brand, budget, and carrier connectivity.
  • No public 2026 revenue or profitability disclosure signals weak transparency for buyers and hires.
  • If larger suites bundle ocean visibility, Portcast becomes a feature, not a company.

What makes Portcast unique

  • Portcast owns ocean-specific visibility, using carrier APIs, port systems, and AIS feeds.
  • Its 2026 Gartner mention validates predictive, decision-oriented logistics visibility.
  • Risk Intelligence now ships Container Risks API and proactive alerts.
