Geotechnical Engineer Project Manager
About the job
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or geological engineering is required.
- Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec with the authority to seal engineering work is required.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience conducting geotechnical investigation studies is required.
- Proficiency with geotechnical analysis tools such as GeoStudio and Settle3 is required or beneficial as indicated in the posting.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- The candidate must be able to conduct advanced soil dynamic response studies, liquefaction potential assessments, and numerical modeling for varied projects.
- The candidate must be able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- The candidate must demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness.
- Very good written and spoken French is required.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate geotechnical study assignments.
- Develop service proposals.
- Ensure compliance with established budgets and schedules.
- Provide administrative follow-up for assigned files.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Define geotechnical investigation programs, including drilling, sounding, and in-situ and laboratory testing.
- Interpret geotechnical data obtained in the field and laboratory.
- Perform analyses and calculations involving slope stability, bearing capacity, settlements, and seismic site classification.
- Write reports.
- Provide technical support during the design and construction phases when needed.
- Experience with geotechnical analysis tools such as GeoStudio and Settle3 is an asset.
