Cloud Linux Engineer
About the job
- Must have hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services and Linux in a production environment.
- Experience patching and maintaining system's databases, to include Amazon Relational Database Service, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Proven experience troubleshooting and solving technical problems.
- Knowledge of Federated Identity, role-based access control, authentication and authorization solutions.
- Understanding of secure-cloud configuration (e.g., AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., Virtual Private Cloud, Security Groups) and Access Control (Identity and Access Management).
- Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Experience with security, such as next-generation firewall, Web Application Firewall, Security Information and Event Management, endpoint security.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology related field or equivalency in related work experience.
- Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.
- Experience using a scripting language.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include: installing, starting, stopping background processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, or VMware.
- Experience with an enterprise application development language, such as Python, Java, or C#, to include writing simple applications or modifying existing ones.
- An active security clearance with polygraph.
- Support the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment and contribute to a team environment in advancing AI/ML/Data Science technologies.
- Maintain and operate AWS and Linux systems in production, including patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and manage automation and scripting to improve deployment and operations.
- Ensure security and accreditation practices and procedures are followed, coordinating with enterprise resources and teams.
- Monitor enterprise workflow applications, manage background processes, analyze logs, and perform patching/troubleshooting as needed.
- Manage virtual infrastructure with cloud providers or virtualization technologies (AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, VMware).
- Work in an agile, fast-paced environment.
