Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least 24 months of previous medium-voltage electrical experience, or an associate’s degree in electrical technology or a related field, is required.
  • Familiarity with National Electrical Code and country codes is required.
  • Familiarity with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and code requirements is required.
  • A valid United States driver’s license is required.
  • The candidate must successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
  • The candidate must communicate and comprehend fundamental English.
  • The candidate must be able to operate electrical testing equipment, including Megger, multimeter/process meter, amp probe, high pot, and test unit equipment.
  • The candidate must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • The candidate must complete new-hire safety training, including H2S, powered industrial, basic first aid, and CPR training.
  • The candidate must complete annual safety and recertification training.
  • The candidate must work minimum 12-hour shifts for 14 consecutive days.
  • The candidate must work consistently in person and complete daily overtime.
  • The candidate must perform physically demanding work, including walking, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, and lifting up to 49 pounds unaided and 50 to 100 pounds in team lifts.
  • The candidate must wear required personal protective equipment and comply with safety and procedural policies.
  • The candidate must possess intermediate mechanics and mathematics aptitude and fundamental proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-job equipment and site inspections to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment at jobsites.
  • Assist personnel with troubleshooting medium-voltage equipment, including variable frequency drives, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Lay out and test grounding grids for company and third-party equipment.
  • Perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and operation of electrical equipment in accordance with safety rules, standard operating procedures, manufacturer instructions, Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, Mine Safety and Health Administration requirements, and National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Communicate completed maintenance and repairs to area managers, the field service manager, and the supervisor.
  • Perform routine maintenance on medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot transformer and generator protection relays.
  • Perform routine maintenance and testing of medium-voltage cables before each fracturing operation.
  • Manage power distribution, including cable routing, designation, cable terminations, final system inspections, and approval before energizing medium-voltage circuits.
  • Order electrical components, supplies, and tools when assigned.
  • Perform other related duties supporting operations and business continuity.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical college training is preferred.
  • Previous data center, microgrid, and field service experience is preferred.
  • Medium-voltage mining experience is acceptable.
  • Certified Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician credentials are preferred.
  • Protection relay experience or certifications are a plus.
