About the job
- At least 1–2 years of experience in construction or industrial electrical environments is preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, including single-line drawings, schematics, and loop drawings.
- Proficiency troubleshooting power circuitry, including motor starters, motors, uninterruptible power supply systems, backup generators, lighting, and receptacles.
- Ability to determine faults in control circuitry involving relays, switches, floats, and transmitters.
- Ability to maintain and repair damaged equipment in motor control centers, breaker panels, and control panels.
- Intermediate understanding of programmable logic controllers and their operation.
- Ability to complete electrical work in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and manufacturer recommendations.
- Ability to work in outdoor, indoor, and elevated environments.
- Ability to compile and complete reports and required documentation.
- Ability to respond and communicate efficiently to client inquiries while maintaining professional relations with the public, office staff, coworkers, and contractors.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure quickly and efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Availability to respond to after-hours callouts when required.
- Microsoft Office experience, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
