Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required, along with the ability to pass a written and practical pipe fitter or structural test.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to work safely and efficiently in industrial environmental conditions, including outdoor work, changing temperatures, humidity, wet and dry conditions, dust, mud, and exposure to fumes.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Responsibilities
  • Study engineering drawings to determine material requirements and task sequences.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Perform mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and angles.
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install structural and pipe plate, pipe material, beams, and related materials according to blueprints and job specifications.
  • Locate and mark workpieces from drawings, including cutting lines, material thickness, welding shrinkage, and other component specifications.
  • Straighten warped or bent parts using sledges, hand torches, and established straightening procedures.
  • Follow fitting procedures and principles used to fabricate offshore jackets, decks, heliports, production facilities, and similar structures.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts using cutting torches, straightening presses, and hand tools.
  • Lay out and install piping, equipment, and other mechanical systems in compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect work sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.
  • Verify that workpieces conform to specifications using squares and measuring tapes.
  • Pull coordinates to locate pipes and obtain measurements.
  • Perform other related job duties safely and efficiently.
