The opportunity

Joining EY places you on the cutting edge of business trends. From the very start of your career, you'll see first-hand how they shape our world. You will be responsible for working on multiple client engagements and supporting the tax practice of Ernst & Young.

Responsibilities

• Stays abreast of general business and economic developments and demonstrates an understanding of industry by recognizing business trends and emerging tax practices and policies relevant to clients.
• Works with the client and engagement team to understand the client's business and tax needs, provides practical implementable solutions, and supports and takes ownership for the implementation of these recommendations.
• Utilizes and encourages the application of firm wide methodologies and tools including computer-based software solutions.
• Prepares tax advice, memoranda, working papers and other documents in conjunction with serving the client (e.g., proposals, engagement letters, presentations, final reports).
• Escalates any quality issues to the practice and engagement partners and managers proactively and ensuring these issues are addressed at the earliest.
• Basic knowledge in the areas of inbound and outbound corporate taxation, individual taxation, indirect taxation, statutory accounting standards and rules.

Qualifications: eligibility requirements include the following:

• University Degree of finance/ accounting/ business/ and other business-related subjects, part qualified Accounting/professional qualification (ACCA/BICA/CIMA) will be an added advantage, upper class degree
• 1-2 years of experience working as a consultant or as a professional in the industry or tax consulting/accounting firms

Understanding of statutory accounting standards and rules
