  • In-depth knowledge and experience of Wi-Fi networking is required.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of network topologies, including demilitarized zones and wide area networks, is required.
  • Substantial knowledge of Splunk or other security information and event management systems is required.
  • Understanding of MITRE Adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Common Knowledge is required.
  • Knowledge of defense-in-depth principles and general attack stages with respect to network security architecture is required.
  • Ability to characterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources is required.
  • Ability to identify and analyze anomalies in network traffic using metadata is required.
  • Experience reconstructing a malicious attack or activity based on network traffic is required.
  • Experience examining network topologies to understand data flows through the network is required.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required, or a high school diploma with at least 10 years of network investigations experience.
  • Certifications listed include DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II, IASAE II, CSSP Analyst; DoD 8140.01 GCIA, GCIH, CSSP Analyst/CSSP Incident Responder; and DoD 8140.01 CEH, CSSP Analyst.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Government lead in coordinating teams during preliminary incident response investigations.
  • Assist the Government lead in interfacing with the customer while on site.
  • Determine appropriate courses of action in response to identified and analyzed anomalous network activity.
  • Assess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security concerns, and provide security best-practice recommendations.
  • Assist in writing and publishing Computer Network Defense guidance and reports on incident findings to appropriate constituencies.
  • Collect network intrusion artifacts, such as packet captures, domains, uniform resource identifiers, and certificates, and use the discovered data to enable mitigation of potential Computer Network Defense incidents.
  • Analyze identified malicious network activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, and effects on systems and information.
  • Collect network device integrity data and analyze it for signs of tampering or compromise.
  • Assist with real-time Computer Network Defense incident handling, including forensic collections, intrusion correlation and tracking, threat analysis, and advising on system remediation, to support on-site engagements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Substantial knowledge of network device integrity concepts and methodologies is desired.
  • Proficiency with network analysis software such as Wireshark is desired.
  • Proficiency with carving and extracting information from packet capture data is desired.
  • Proficiency with non-traditional network traffic, such as command and control traffic, is desired.
  • Proficiency with preserving evidence integrity according to standard operating procedures or national standards is desired.
  • Proficiency with designing cybersecurity systems and environments in Linux and/or Windows is desired.
  • Proficiency with virtualized environments is desired.
  • SANS GIAC GNFA certification is preferred.

Nightwing and ProCustom Group launch rugged laptops with integrated cyber resiliency solutions

Nightwing, an intelligence solutions company, has partnered with ProCustom Group to launch rugged laptops with integrated cybersecurity solutions. The new portfolio features PCG's customised commercial off-the-shelf rugged devices pre-installed with Nightwing's Boot Shield and Electronic Armor technologies. The integrated platform combines rugged notebooks with Intel AI-enabled processors, hot-swappable batteries and sunlight-readable displays alongside Nightwing's cyber resiliency tools. Boot Shield prevents boot-level attacks and firmware code injections, whilst Electronic Armor protects sensitive applications and data. The partnership aims to deliver secure computing solutions for mission-critical operations in extreme environments. The upcoming product range will include ruggedised laptops from 11 to 16 inches with customisable configurations. ProCustom Group specialises in environmental and electromagnetic hardening of ruggedised technology for military and aerospace applications.
