  • Ability to work in person at Molg headquarters in Sterling, Virginia.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support reliable software deployment across robotics, embedded, and on-premise systems.
  • Collaborate with software and robotics engineers to containerize workloads using Docker and Orbstack, maintaining consistent environments from development through production across local and factory-floor deployments.
  • Develop and maintain automated build, test, and release pipelines, integrating hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop test stages for robotics system validation.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and observability across deployed robotic systems and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Partner with QA and engineering teams to define quality gates in CI/CD pipelines and ensure regressions are caught before production.
  • Manage and improve developer tooling, local development environments, and internal platform services.
  • Drive infrastructure security practices, including secrets management, access control, vulnerability scanning, and network security for on-premise systems.
  • Administer and maintain local networking infrastructure, including switches, VLANs, firewalls, and machine-to-machine communication across the factory floor.
  • Respond to and resolve infrastructure incidents, conduct post-mortems, and implement lasting fixes.
  • Automate recurring manual processes.

  • Experience supporting embedded or robotics systems, edge deployments, or industrial environments.

About the company

Molg builds a robotic manufacturing platform focused on circular products. It uses robots to assemble and disassemble products, enabling recovery and reuse of components in a cost-effective, scalable way. The platform tracks material composition, embodied carbon, and the digital steps of assembly and recovery, providing transparency for sustainability goals. The service helps manufacturers convert existing product lines into circular designs—designed to be reused, refurbished, or recycled—while reducing waste and environmental impact. Compared with typical manufacturers, Molg emphasizes a robot-first approach, end-to-end traceability, and a platform-as-a-service model that helps companies lower costs and meet sustainability targets. The overall goal is to make manufacturing sustainable and scalable by turning products into circular offerings that minimize waste and landfill use.

What believers are saying

  • ABB’s March 2025 investment validates Molg’s technology and expands enterprise distribution.
  • DOE-funded laptop and battery disassembly targets lower costs by 50% and faster throughput.
  • Molg’s 35-employee team and expanding Virginia capacity support rapid commercialization.

What critics are saying

  • Molg still makes tens of devices at one Pennsylvania reverse-logistics site in 2025.
  • Competitive pressure from ABB, Sims Lifecycle Services, and incumbent recyclers compresses margins quickly.
  • If enterprise customers delay circular redesign, Molg becomes a niche services vendor.

What makes Molg unique

  • ABB invested in Molg in March 2025 for circular drive manufacturing.
  • Molg’s microfactories autonomously assemble and disassemble servers, laptops, and industrial electronics.
  • DOE funded Molg $5 million in November 2024 for design-for-disassembly automation.
