It creates games and extends their life with live services, such as downloadable content (DLC), in-game purchases, and subscriptions, to keep players engaged over time. Its products are sold as digital downloads and physical copies, with additional value through ongoing content and a subscription plan called EA Play that grants access to a library of games and perks. Compared with competitors, EA blends a broad lineup of genres and platforms with a steady revenue model based on live services and memberships, rather than relying only on initial game launches. Its goal is to inspire the world through play while building stable, recurring income by maintaining active player communities and expanding engagement across geographies.

Madden NFL 27 Superstar Mode explained: EA just changed how NFL careers actually work in Early Access. Posted: Aug 06, 2026 With the official launch of Madden NFL 27 Early Access, IGGM can finally experience the brand-new Superstar Mode content ahead of time. Players with MVP+ Membership can enter the game starting August 6, 2026, exploring the new career system 7 days before the official release. The gameplay revealed this time comes from Madden 27 work-in-progress build, so some features and systems may still be adjusted before the official release. However, based on the content shown so far, EA is revamping Superstar Mode to give players a more realistic NFL player development experience. Compared to the previous career mode, which mainly focused on attribute improvement, Madden 27 Superstar Mode incorporates more career planning elements. Each stage can influence the final development direction, allowing IGGM to truly experience the complete growth path from rookie to NFL superstar. Draft determines your starting point. In the new MUT 27 Superstar Mode, the choices you make after creating your character will directly affect your future career path. This year's career mode differs completely from the past. Your performance in the initial stages will affect draft projections and creation points. Furthermore, your performance in NFL Combine and other pre-draft events will also alter the final draft outcome. In Early Access, you can be a rookie at different levels, including Day One First-Round Pick, Day Two Third-Round Prospect, and Day Three Late-Round Prospect. Different draft positions will lead to different career starts. If you're a first-round pick, you might directly compete for a starting position in NFL; if you're a mid-to-late draft pick, you might need to start as a reserve and prove your worth through games. This design makes Madden NFL 27 Superstar Mode more than just simple attribute upgrades; it incorporates more career planning elements. QB build upgrade. Because of MUT 27 mechanism adjustments, Quarterbacks have gained more development paths in Superstar Mode, allowing players to choose different QB Archetypes based on their playing style. Madden 27 offers four main archetypes: Field General, Scrambler, Gunslinger, and Improver, each representing a unique style of NFL quarterback. Field Generals prioritize reading the defense and accurate passing, similar to traditional passing-oriented quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford; Scramblers emphasize mobility and running threat, similar to Lamar Jackson. Gunslingers emphasize Throw Power and long-range passing ability, resembling Justin Herbert's playing style; Improvisers combine passing and movement advantages to create opportunities outside the pocket, similar to Patrick Mahomes. If you don't want to use a fixed template, you can choose Custom Build to freely adjust attributes and create a custom quarterback that suits your style. Skill Tree optimization. One of the biggest changes in Madden 27 Superstar Mode in Early Access is the new Skill Tree system. You can choose to enhance your playstyle in different areas, including Core, Physical, Mental, Specialty, and X-Factor. Each category requires Skill Points to upgrade. The new skill tree system unlocks numerous abilities. For example, Arm Talent improves Bullet Pass speed and passing animation, making quarterback quick passes more consistent. Escape Artist improves mobility after escaping the pocket. Human Joystick enhances a player's change of direction, making ball movement more agile. Additionally, you can unlock several mental abilities, such as Film Study, Pro Reads, Blitz Radar, and Pressure Radar. These abilities significantly differentiate players created by different players in MUT 27 Superstar Mode. Combine affects draft. Madden 27 further strengthens the role of NFL Combine in Superstar Mode. Before officially entering NFL, your created player needs to participate in several draft testing programs, including 40-Yard Dash, Bench Press, Broad Jump, 20-Yard Shuttle, and Quarterback Passing Drill. These tests assess a player's speed, strength, explosiveness, agility, and technical abilities, directly affecting draft stock. Excellent performance in Combine can improve a player's draft ranking, potentially leading to a top draft pick; conversely, poor test results can result in a lower draft position, requiring them to start their NFL career as a reserve or at a lower level. This design makes Superstar Mode progression process closer to the real NFL draft, where every choice and performance will influence your future development path. New progression system. After completing a Combine, you'll gain many Skill Points to upgrade your player. Upgrading unlocks abilities such as High-Speed Getaway, Escape Artist, and Bronze Human Joystick, while also improving your Overall Rating. Furthermore, Madden 27 introduces the new G.O.A.T. Journey system. G.O.A.T. stands for Greatest Of All Time. You can accumulate your legendary status by winning games, earning individual honors, setting records, and increasing your league influence, ultimately challenging for the title of the greatest player in NFL history. In Madden NFL 27 Early Access, IGGM also discovered the new Sphere of Influence, a brand-new career influence system designed to reflect a player's changing status in NFL. As you improve your game performance, personal reputation, and relationship with your agent, your character's influence will gradually expand, no longer solely relying on attribute growth and game results to drive career development. As you become a core member of your team, Sphere of Influence unlocks more career options, such as submitting Trade Requests, influencing future team plans, and gaining more development opportunities. This makes Madden 27 Superstar Mode closer to the careers of real NFL stars, as top players not only change the game on the field but also have greater influence on team building and their own future choices. With the launch of Madden NFL 27 Early Access, players looking to quickly build a strong roster can buy Madden NFL 27 Coins from IGGM.com to more efficiently complete team building and prepare for the official season. While waiting for MUT 27 to fully open, newly registered IGGM accounts can participate in a daily IGGM Check in activity to earn points, which can be used to offset cash or redeem large coupons, helping you acquire Madden NFL 27 Coins at a more favorable price. Superstar Mode showcased in Madden NFL 27 Early Access places a greater emphasis on long-term career development compared to its predecessor, with each stage impacting your final career path. While the current Early Access experience is subject to change, it already demonstrates EA's direction in creating a more immersive NFL career mode. As more players access Early Access, more details about Madden 27 Superstar Mode will gradually be revealed.
The guy in charge of EA Sports is now in charge of EA everything. Published 6 hours ago With EA's acquisition by Saudi Arabia now complete, there have been a couple changes at the top. With Electronic Arts now officially owned by Saudi Arabia, CEO Andrew Wilson has made some changes at the top, appointing former EA Sports president Cam Weber as president and chief studios officer, and former "chief experiences officer" David Tinson - basically the top marketing and communications role - as president and chief operating officer. The announcement of the promotions came in a message initially shared with employees that was presumably meant to be reassuring, but lands mostly as just empty pap. After waxing poetic about the company's long and eventful history, Wilson said EA is "entering one of the most exciting and transformative moments our industry has ever seen." "Every era of innovation expands what's possible," Wilson wrote. "New technologies open new doors, but it is the creativity, ingenuity and courage of our teams that transform possibilities into unforgettable experiences. At EA, we've always believed our greatest opportunity is to create what others haven't yet imagined. This is the spirit that has guided us for more than four decades, and it will continue to shape our future." Latest Videos FromPC Gamer It's the kind of wordy, meaningless positivity usually reserved for shareholder calls (when EA had those), but vaguely familiar to my reading, too: A slightly reworded take on the increasingly common promise that yes, PC Gamer is using AI for game development, but it's all driven by human creativity. AI does seem likely to feature largely in EA's future: Silver Lake CEO and managing partner Egon Durban said the new owners will "invest heavily in EA's growth, including what AI can do to enhance game development and player experience," and less cheerfully, there's also an expectation of massive layoffs to follow as EA looks to manage the billions in debt it's taken on to finance this deal. The promotion of Weber and Tinson was similarly exuberant: Wilson said EA will need "bold creativity and exceptional execution" as it moves into its next phase, but fortunately it has "a deeply experienced leadership team across the company." I think it's notable that Weber was previously the head of EA Sports. Some observers, including former BioWare lead writer Trick Weekes, have speculated that EA's takeover will leave it tightly focused on its dominant franchises - EA Sports FC and Battlefield, basically - to the exclusion of smaller-scale fare. Without wanting to read too much into it, putting the top EA Sports guy in charge of all EA studios can pretty easily be seen as movement in that direction. EA sale finalized amid growing fears of layoffs. Alex Gherzo August 5, 2026 The sale of Electronic Arts is now final. Last year, EA was bought by a consortium made of the Public Investment Fund, or PIF, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, and two American companies: Silver Lake, a private equity firm, and Affinity Partners, an investment firm founded by President Trump's son-in-law and former advisor, Jared Kushner. Yesterday, EA released a statement confirming that the sale had closed, with EA shareholders receiving $210 in cash for each share they own, a 25% premium over the stock price on the last full day before the sale. But while EA Chairman and CEO Andrew Wilson and many others are celebrating the sale, the potential for layoffs looms over the company's employees. While no EA layoffs have been announced yet, many have suspected they would be coming for some time. In March, Bloomberg reported that EA was shopping around a $15 billion debt package to various investment firms to finance its sale, $700 million of which was labeled as "projected annual cost savings." That $700 million included things like funding games like Battlefield 6, which EA collectively classified as "a one-time cost that can be added back to earnings." $170 million of the $700 million was called "organizational efficiencies and opportunities to cut costs," which Bloomberg noted often means layoffs. According to Bloomberg video game reporter Jason Schreier, EA's new owners are now strapped with $18 billion in debt and interest payments of $1.8 billion a year. He says that EA's Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization, or EBITDA, is "around $1.5 billion" a year, which should mostly be able to cover the interest payments. But he also cites the original Bloomberg report about cutting $700 million from the debt, and the $150 EA marked for "organizational efficiencies," which he believes means "mass layoffs." While this may be a tad premature - again, no layoff announcements have been made - industry experts seem to think the writing is on the wall. It is also not without precedent, as layoffs have been occurring throughout the gaming industry lately. XBOX recently cut 1,600 employees, with another 1,600 planned to be let go over the next 12 months. And as GameSpot notes, EA has already laid off a number of employees this year, with IGN reporting that "an unknown number of individuals" from the Battlefield studios, including Criterion Games, Dice, Ripple Effect Studios, and Motive Studio Vancouver, were laid off. The reason given to IGN was that EA wanted to "better align" its teams. Polygon estimates that EA has laid off 970 employees over the last two years. Are more EA layoffs coming now that the consortium (which the announcement letter from EA says is actually referred to as "the Consortium") owns the company? Geeks and Gamers, LLC won't know until an official statement is made or current EA employees start revealing that they've been let go. And EA has listed some other money-saving ideas, like ramping up its use of AI in game development. But with billions in debt needing to be paid off, an industry riddled with redundancies as it is, and new owners who will no doubt want to see results fast, it's not a surprise that many observers are expecting downsizing to start soon.
The deal takes the maker of titles including The Sims and EA FC into private ownership - and loads it with debt.
