As a Sr Software Engineer, you will design, develop and support highly transactional applications for the FORTNA Warehouse Execution System (FORTNA WES). You will play a key role in delivering reliable software that powers complex warehouse automation environments.

You will collaborate with software engineers, project managers, QA, infrastructure and implementation teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Working closely with colleagues in both the Hanoi office and the United States, you will contribute to technical design, deployment, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of mission-critical applications.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and develop FORTNA WES applications for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) environments.
Participate in software design reviews with clients, Software Project Management, Technical Services and Software Engineering teams.
Collaborate with Software Project Management on project planning throughout the project lifecycle.
Support Software QA and Infrastructure teams with the qualification, deployment and RPM packaging of WES middleware applications.
Partner with QA to develop test plans and test automation as part of an Agile Scrum team.
Maintain high-quality software design and project documentation.
Provide remote support and troubleshooting for new and legacy FORTNA WES/WCS systems.
Contribute to TCP/IP network application design and troubleshooting.
Mentor junior software engineers.
Support implementation teams during system qualification activities when required.

Qualifications Needed

Mandatory Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
8+ years of software engineering experience.
Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) on large-scale software products or projects.
Strong Java development experience.
Experience with microservices architecture.
Strong SQL and Oracle experience.
Experience with RPM Package Manager.
Experience developing applications on Linux environments.
Experience with high-transaction, time-sensitive or mission-critical applications.
Understanding of TCP/IP networking and socket programming.
Strong object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD) skills.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Strong collaboration, organisation, time management and problem-solving skills.

FORTNA recapitalizes in debt-for-equity deal. Existing lenders will take ownership, restructure balance sheet. By MMH Staff · August 28, 2026 Logistics software and automation company FORTNA has entered into an agreement with holders of 74% of the company's funded debt and its sponsors to recapitalize in a debt-for-equity swap, which will transition the company's ownership to its existing lenders, including funds managed by Ares Management and some of the largest global asset managers, and position the business for long-term growth. Participation in the transaction will be offered to all of the company's existing lenders. The 80-year-old company will continue to operate as normal and the FORTNA team remains focused on delivering for customers and advancing projects on time. "Today's agreement marks an important milestone for our company," said Rob McKeel, Chief Executive Officer, FORTNA. "Following this transaction, we will have a stronger balance sheet and enhanced financial flexibility. Additionally, with the support of new ownership that shares our long-term vision, we will be well positioned to execute our strategy with discipline and confidence. Our focus remains unchanged - delivering exceptional value to our customers, investing in operational excellence and driving sustainable long-term growth." McKeel continued, "As we look ahead, our priorities remain clear. We will continue helping our customers optimize complex distribution and fulfillment operations with mission-critical solutions, expertise and innovative approaches. Majority ownership will transition through the recapitalization to the company's existing lenders. The company fully expects to consummate the recapitalization transaction in the coming weeks, subject to the satisfaction of standard closing conditions. The recapitalization transaction will have no impact or impairment on the company's vendors, suppliers, and business partners.
