Requirements
  • At least one year of registered nurse experience in pediatric critical care, a neonatal intensive care unit, or a similar unit.
  • Graduation from an NLN-accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification for health care providers.
  • Advanced certification such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Neonatal Advanced Life Support, or Pediatric Advanced Life Support may be required for certain specialties.
Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame.
  • Supervise and provide patient care using the nursing process, including the therapeutic use of self.
  • Follow established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with internal customers and supervisors.
  • Interface with staff, management, and physicians while providing customer service.
  • Apply Cooper core values.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
  • Provide care to infants in a level 3 neonatal intensive care unit, including infants requiring surgical interventions, respiratory support, high-frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide.
  • Participate in care within a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, fellows, neonatal nurse practitioners, residents, respiratory therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, unit secretaries, and child life personnel.
  • Work part-time from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., including rotating weekends and holidays.
