  • Demonstrated success closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals to signature and managing a high-activity pipeline.
  • Experience working in the autonomous vehicle industry.
  • Experience selling complex solutions and systems integration, including integration with customer toolchains, test infrastructure, or program environments and scoping statements of work alongside subscription terms.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to hold credible conversations with system safety engineers, software developers, and integration teams and translate technical concepts into executive-level business language.
  • Hands-on Salesforce experience, structured qualification methodology, and reliable sales forecasting.
  • Ability to build relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Strong in-person and remote presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Experience developing value propositions for emerging technologies.
  • Experience leading and maintaining trust in a fast-growing startup.
  • Ability to engage with product developers, system safety engineers, software developers, marketing, and operations groups.
  • At least 5 years of quota-carrying business-to-business sales experience in enterprise software, software as a service, or technical engineering services, with documented quota attainment and personally owned closed-won deals.
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in a technical or business-related field, or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
  • Close new business, carry a quota, and own annual bookings targets for Guardian software subscriptions and integrated assurance programs from first meeting through signature.
  • Sell into defense and commercial autonomy markets, including Department of War and Department of Defense program offices and prime contractors, automotive original equipment manufacturers, robotaxi and autonomous delivery fleets, offshore energy robotics, and commercial space and satellite operations.
  • Run the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, technical discovery, solution scoping, pricing, negotiation, and contract close across 6- to 18-month enterprise sales cycles.
  • Expand existing accounts and represent Edge Case Research in the field by driving land-and-expand growth, multi-year renewals, and recurring revenue.
  • Manage the sales pipeline in Salesforce, maintain deal hygiene and structured opportunity qualification, and provide accurate weekly and quarterly sales forecasts.
  • Prepare client proposals and reports and present products or services to potential clients.
  • Translate technical capabilities into business value by building return-on-investment cases and value propositions connecting autonomous system safety assurance to program risk, schedule, and cost for non-technical executive buyers.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous accounts, sales cycles, and internal reporting tasks.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and clients, ensuring smooth onboarding and high client satisfaction.
  • Provide conflict resolution and negotiate with customers and stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications

What believers are saying

  • Aurora’s June 2026 partnership creates a visible reference customer for highway autonomy buyers.
  • Liberty Mutual’s June 2026 investment expands Edge Case into underwriting workflows for insurers.
  • USAF’s $1.25 million Phase II award funds autonomous confined-space inspection through 2027.

What critics are saying

  • Aurora and Liberty Mutual concentrate revenue; losing either account hits 2027 bookings hard.
  • UL 4600 standardization commoditizes safety assurance, letting clients internalize Edge Case’s core consulting work.
  • USAF Phase II ends October 2027; without follow-on awards, defense revenue drops sharply.

What makes Edge Case Research unique

  • June 2026 Aurora review proves Edge Case sells third-party safety assurance, not simulation.
  • Liberty Mutual backed Edge Case in June 2026, validating its insurance-facing safety methodology.
  • USAF’s 2026 SBIR ties Edge Case to SOTIF metrics for onboard autonomy assurance.
