Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited medical school with an M.D. or D.O.
  • Board certification in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Med/Peds within one year of residency completion.
  • Completion of a Family Medicine, Med/Peds, or Emergency Medicine residency program.
  • Fluency in urgent care procedural skills, including stitching and suturing, joint injections, EKG interpretation, skin procedures, and reproductive health procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to patients with acute medical problems or acute exacerbations of chronic illnesses.
  • Examine patients, formulate diagnostic plans, order diagnostic testing, interpret examination findings and test results, and implement treatment plans.
  • Provide acute care for patients across the entire lifespan, including infants and pregnant patients.
  • Determine the need for consultation and assist in medical care and treatment provided by other specialists.
  • Participate in other care procedures according to training and demonstrated ability.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate for patients’ medical conditions, and assess their effectiveness.
  • Promote continuity for patients with the primary care team and facilitate appropriate follow-up with the primary care team when appropriate.
  • Meet the Health Center’s annual productivity goal.
  • Maintain and update Electronic Health Records in a systematic format and complete required documentation within 48 hours.
  • Participate in after-hours and weekend call on a rotating basis according to the schedule assigned by the Medical Director.
  • Work rotating weekday evening and Saturday morning hours.
