Technical Trainer - Industrial Controls
About the job
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering or engineering technology area, or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience providing technical training for software and/or industrial automation systems.
- Experience documenting operational, safety, and environmental procedures in an industrial setting.
- Deliver, maintain, and develop customer-focused learning content, tools, and concepts within assigned portfolio elements.
- Assist course developers in creating design documents and setting delivery milestones.
- Present prepared materials, supervise organized laboratory activities, provide classroom leadership, record student progress, and ensure appropriate equipment and materials are available for safe and effective laboratory and classroom activities.
- Conduct individual and group technical training courses and activities for employees and customers using corporate DCS Engineering software and hardware equipment.
- Identify customers' training needs to support completion of Learning Needs Analyses.
- Support sales functions of Portfolio Consultants.
- Revise existing course materials.
- Assist in developing new course materials.
- Participate in departmental meetings and team activities.
- Experience with cyber security.
- Experience operating and maintaining industrial processes using standard distributed control systems, including PLC and DCS equipment, associated electronic automation equipment, and associated software packages.
- Background or experience in the Power Plant sector.
- Experience with Siemens PLCs and/or drives.
- Significant recent experience working successfully in a field related to the Power Plant sector, or in an area directly related to industrial instrumentation and/or process control operations.
