About the company

Bishop Fox focuses on offensive cybersecurity, testing clients’ networks and applications against real-world attack techniques to find and fix vulnerabilities before attackers exploit them. Its flagship Cosmos blends automated scanning with expert testing to continuously identify and remediate high-risk exposures on dynamic attack surfaces. Unlike many firms that rely on point-in-time tests, Bishop Fox emphasizes hands-on, real-world attack simulations and ongoing remediation across a broad set of services. The goal is to help organizations continuously reduce risk by exposing and closing security gaps before they can be exploited.

Bishop Fox Launches AIMap, proving how quickly exposed AI Infrastructure can be discovered and attacked at scale.

Bishop Fox Launches AIMap, proving how quickly exposed AI Infrastructure can be discovered and attacked at scale. May 1, 2026 Built in an afternoon, AIMap exposes the ease with which AI agent infrastructure can be targeted at internet scale. TEMPE, Ariz. - Bishop Fox, a leading offensive security firm, today announced the launch of AIMap, an internet-scale discovery and security testing platform, purpose-built for the rapidly expanding AI agent attack surface. As organizations rush to deploy AI infrastructure, AIMap provides the necessary oversight to identify and remediate publicly exposed AI endpoints. Addressing the Visibility Gap in AI Infrastructure AIMap originated from a hackathon. In a single afternoon, using off-the-shelf components, the team assembled a platform capable of sweeping the internet for exposed AI agent infrastructure, fingerprinting endpoints, scoring risk, and launching active attacks against them. The ease of assembly was not incidental. It was the finding. What it surfaced is a growing challenge: AI systems are increasingly deployed as externally accessible services, exposing models, tools, and system functionality through public-facing endpoints, often without consistent authentication or access controls. This creates external visibility into AI systems that often exceeds an organization's own understanding of its exposure - and the barrier to assembling that capability is now an afternoon. "We built AIMap to reflect what attackers are already doing at scale," said Vinnie Liu, CEO at Bishop Fox. "By releasing it as open source, organizations can take that capability, adapt it to their own environments, and use it to understand what AI systems are exposed, how they are configured, and what they can do when actively tested." Comprehensive Discovery and Risk Scoring AIMap operates across five core capabilities to provide a complete view of AI risk: * Discovery: Queries internet-scale data to identify exposed AI endpoints across the globe; uses a Shodan-style query language to filter by protocol, location and organization. * Fingerprinting: Uses specialized probes to determine protocols, frameworks and authentication status. * Scoring: Assigns a risk score (zero to 10) based on factors like system prompt leakage, unauthenticated access and the presence of high-risk tool execution. * Testing: Launches protocol-specific attack suites such as prompt injection, tool abuse and model extraction with results streamed in real time. * Visualization: Features a 3D globe visualization to explore discovered endpoints by protocol type, risk level and geographic location. The platform supports detection and analysis across a range of AI protocols and frameworks, including Model Context Protocol (MCP), Ollama, vLLM, LiteLLM, LocalAI, LangServe and LangChain deployments, OpenClaw and Clawdbot systems, Open WebUI and LibreChat interfaces, Gradio and Streamlit applications, ComfyUI and Stable Diffusion environments, HuggingFace TGI, and generic inference APIs. Commitment to Open Source Consistent with Bishop Fox's long-standing contributions to the security community, AIMap is available to the public and can be adapted by organizations to their own environments. Users can deploy the platform locally via Docker Compose to run discovery scans and launch attack tests directly from the application. To begin taking advantage of internet-scale AI discovery and automated attack testing, visit: github.com/BishopFox/aimap. AIMap is intended for authorized security testing. Operators are solely responsible for ensuring their use of AIMap complies with the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, GDPR, and all other applicable laws in their jurisdiction. Bishop Fox publishes AIMap as a research and defensive security tool and does not authorize or endorse use against systems the operator does not own or lack permission to test. Penalizing Hospitals Won’T Stop Ransomware: Why Collaboration, Not Fines, Is Key To Healthcare Cybersecurity

Chris Bowen, Founder and CISO, ClearDATAThe recent $50 million initiative announced by the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) can’t hurt in the ongoing battle against ransomware in the healthcare sector. This investment is aimed at strengthening the cybersecurity defenses of hospitals nationwide, protecting sensitive patient data, and enhancing the resilience of healthcare systems against cyber threats. However, I must emphasize that while $50 million is a step in the right direction, it is merely a drop in the bucket given the scale of the problem. For years, the healthcare sector has been a prime target for cybercriminals, with ransomware attacks becoming alarmingly frequent and increasingly destructive. Major organizations like Change Healthcare and Ascension have faced significant disruptions due to these breaches. The 2023 Ponemon Institute report indicates that 45% of healthcare organizations experienced a ransomware attack, with 67% of those incidents causing significant disruptions to patient care. These attacks not only compromise patient data but also jeopardize the delivery of essential healthcare services, potentially endangering lives. The introduction of ARPA-H’s Universal PatchinG and Remediation for Autonomous DEfense (UPGRADE) program is a timely and necessary intervention. A Proactive Approach to Cybersecurity The UPGRADE program aims to develop a comprehensive and scalable software suite to enhance the cybersecurity posture of hospitals. By reducing the patching time for vulnerable healthcare products from months to mere days, UPGRADE seeks a transformative shift in how hospitals can defend against cyber threats. The initiative focuses on four key areas:  creating a vulnerability mitigation platform developing high-fidelity digital twins of hospital equipment rapidly detecting software vulnerabilities developing defenses for each identified vulnerability These technical goals represent a proactive approach to cybersecurity, moving away from the reactive measures that have characterized the healthcare sector’s responses in the past. For instance, developing digital twins will allow hospitals to simulate and test the impact of patches and updates in a controlled environment, thereby reducing the risk of unintended consequences that could disrupt patient care and providing hospital staff and patients with much-needed confidence and peace of mind. Penalties Are Counterproductive Despite the strategic direction of the UPGRADE program, it is crucial to reconsider how regulatory bodies like the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) approach cybersecurity in healthcare
