Requirements
  • At least 5 years of marketing transformation experience specifically in life sciences, gained at a client, agency, vendor, or consultancy.
  • Working knowledge of tools used by life sciences commercial organizations, including Veeva, Adobe, Salesforce, Anthropic, and OpenEvidence.
  • At least 3 years of consulting experience as a marketing strategist or defining process and organizational design solutions in a business environment.
  • Experience with clients or as part of a pharmaceutical marketing team in one or more of the following areas: personalization, operating models, omnichannel, tagging and taxonomy, marketing and brand strategy, pharmaceutical media, brand launch, search engine optimization, and generative engine optimization.
  • Experience and expertise in process design, simplification, and automation, including explaining where and how to unlock efficiencies or improve effectiveness.
  • Experience leading and facilitating working sessions and workshops, supporting business development efforts, and constructing long-term plans for developing marketing operating model capabilities and services.
  • Experience and knowledge of organizational design principles and strategy, and architecting and implementing organizational change.
Responsibilities
  • Rethink how life sciences clients go to market, engage customers, build campaigns, and measure performance.
  • Develop operating models and organizational structures encompassing talent, ways of working, technology, and governance across marketing and its intersections with sales, information technology, and customer experience organizations.
  • Lead teams as they adopt new commercial operating models and marketing capabilities through change management, training, communication plans, and rollout plans in a regulated environment.
  • Gather and analyze client information to identify opportunities to improve integrated commercial performance and operations, and design roadmaps, organizations, and operations to deliver improvements.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to innovate and build digital solutions informed by practices from other industries.
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities within clients’ commercial organizations and determine strategic implications, defining detailed people, process, and technology plans to improve performance.
  • Use marketing strategy, brand and campaign operations, and sales knowledge to develop and implement plans and approaches.
  • Engage with senior-level clients to collaborate on solutions and approaches that improve their ability to meet business objectives.
  • Support new business opportunities through client relationship development, pitches, and requests for proposal responses.
  • Work with Accenture Song industry leadership teams to develop and deliver new business through trust- and value-led relationships with key client stakeholders responsible for digital initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought leader on marketing challenges, including Agile Marketing, legal, medical, regulatory transformation, and content innovation.

Accenture shares down 27%, but 11.5% yield available through put options at 35% discount

Accenture trades 37% below its 52-week high after falling 27% over the past year. In fiscal Q3 2026, new bookings declined and some managed services deals slipped into fiscal 2027. The company generated $73.1 billion in revenue over the past twelve months, with operating margins widening to 17% in Q3. Managed services revenue grew 5% in local currency. In the first nine months of fiscal 2026, clients made 104 quarterly bookings exceeding $100 million, up 13% year-on-year. Consulting revenue grew just 1% in local currency in Q3. Management attributes the slowdown to the Middle East conflict affecting regional and discretionary spending. The CEO acknowledged that client budgets have not been growing, with spending simply being redirected rather than increased.

Accenture appoints Emma Chalwin as chief marketing officer

Accenture has appointed Emma Chalwin as Chief Marketing Officer, effective 1 October 2026. She will oversee global marketing and communications, reporting to Chair and CEO Julie Sweet. Chalwin joins from Workday, where she served as CMO. Accenture drops LearnVantage focus, shifts $9B to cybersecurity and mid-market expansion

Accenture is shifting its growth strategy, de-emphasising LearnVantage, a learning and training business it built and promoted heavily in 2024. The company mentioned LearnVantage only once on its June 2026 earnings call, listing it amongst AI enablers rather than highlighting it as a standalone growth driver. Meanwhile, Accenture is redirecting resources toward cybersecurity, which has grown from $700 million in fiscal 2016 to $10 billion in fiscal 2025. The company is acquiring a majority stake in an operational technology security specialist, alongside two smaller firms, combining them into a platform for critical infrastructure. These assets generate $208 million in annual recurring revenue, growing at 48%. Accenture's acquisition budget for fiscal 2026 is approximately $9 billion against $73.1 billion in trailing twelve-month revenue. The company has also launched Accenture Edge, targeting mid-market companies. The stock is down 24.3% over the past year.
