Requirements
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree, at least 7 years with an advanced degree, at least 4 years with a PhD, or at least 13 years of relevant work experience without a degree requirement.
  • Demonstrated hands-on Infrastructure as Code development and deployment in hybrid cloud environments using AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, including CDN, load balancing, and proxy deployments.
  • Experience developing automation frameworks and solutions in enterprise networks.
  • At least 4 years of experience with traffic management technologies, particularly public cloud, CDN, load balancing, and proxy solutions.
  • Hands-on experience developing Terraform frameworks for automated deployments.
  • Experience with open-source Infrastructure as Code and automation software development tools, including Terraform, Terragrunt, env0, Ansible, Python, Chef, Puppet, or Salt.
  • A background and recent experience in modern traffic management architecture, including global and local traffic management solutions.
  • Experience with networking tooling applications and ancillary networking services.
  • Experience with networking best practices, especially network security, firewalling, and virtual private network solutions.
  • Expert knowledge of CDN infrastructure and services.
  • Understanding of public cloud networking, compute, storage, management, and governance services.
  • At least 5 years of experience with CDN platforms such as Akamai or Cloudflare and load-balancing platforms such as F5 or NGINX.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience implementing cloud-native and hybrid solutions with enterprise-level technologies.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with container technologies in production, such as Docker, OpenShift, or Kubernetes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Teamwork and partnership skills sufficient to work globally and drive consensus in cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement traffic management technologies across private data centers and public cloud environments, with emphasis on CDN, DNS, load balancing, and proxy solutions.
  • Assist in defining architecture, capturing functional requirements, preparing estimates, and developing technical solutions for traffic management technologies.
  • Provide guidance to project teams on design and deployment activities.
  • Work with Operations and Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Product Development teams to define application-delivery solutions for hybrid cloud infrastructure.
  • Provide senior technical leadership in network engineering, network automation, and public cloud environments.
  • Contribute to the traffic management strategy for private, hybrid, and public cloud adoption, including long-term network architecture scenarios.
  • Collaborate with cloud, systems, and cybersecurity architects to drive strategy and standards.
  • Architect, design, and deliver solutions enabling multi-CDN implementation.
  • Develop standard automation templates for deploying traffic management infrastructure and platform components.
  • Use cloud-native approaches based on business goals, objectives, and requirements while integrating with legacy solutions.
  • Design security into projects and processes across design, implementation, and operations.
  • Design secure, scalable, repeatable, highly available, and efficient solutions.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to engineering and operations teams on public cloud architecture, design, and delivery.
  • Drive software development for Infrastructure as Code efforts across private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments and CDNs.
  • Influence enterprise technology selection and define high-level design documentation for key technology initiatives.
  • Collaborate with network architecture, cybersecurity, and operations teams to recommend next-generation capabilities.
  • Coordinate consensus and execution to mitigate cyber-risk issues and emerging threats.
  • Travel 5–10% of the time.
