- Hold a valid Arizona Department of Education State Teaching Certification in secondary education.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a Social Studies-related content area.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Common Core State Standards and proficiency in standards-based instruction.
- Have strong classroom management skills.
- Be able to use technology to enhance instruction and student learning.
- Have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Plan and deliver effective and engaging Social Studies lessons to high school students.
- Assess and evaluate student understanding and progress using a variety of methods.
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and progress.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences and collaborate with parents and guardians to encourage student success.
- Participate in school-wide events and promote a positive school community.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students.
- Fulfill additional duties or responsibilities as directed by the school principal.
- A master's degree is preferred to meet requirements for Dual Enrollment College Courses.
- Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
