Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assist the building automation project manager in ensuring projects comply with design, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, use appropriate safety systems and processes, conduct project audits, and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and applicable state and federal safety and environmental laws.
  • Assist with inspections and project reviews to monitor compliance with company and Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety requirements.
  • Review, organize, and distribute contract documents, including drawings, specifications, schedules, requests for information, construction bulletins, shop drawings, and submittals, to project team members, subcontractors, the fabrication shop, and vendors.
  • Administer and update progress drawings and as-built drawings.
  • Administer project closeout documentation, including operations and maintenance manuals, startup reports, owner training, and punch lists.
  • Assist in identifying, tracking, and reporting changes to the original scope of work.
  • Assist in drafting, submitting, and tracking requests for information and corresponding responses.
  • Attend field coordination meetings and distribute meeting notes.
  • Distribute and log team activities and project documents, including drawings, specifications, schedules, requests for information, and construction bulletins.
  • Assist in administering project-specific quality control programs and compiling documentation.
  • Maintain equipment procurement logs.
  • Assist with managing and tracking tool and equipment rentals.
  • Track all phases of construction projects, including due dates, assigned personnel, parts orders, hours expended by task and cost code, subcontractors, and project phases.
  • Identify, track, and report changes to the original scope of work, pricing requests, change orders, requests for information, and field orders.
  • Assist with obtaining required permits or licenses.
  • Track and price change orders and submissions.
  • Attend pre-bid, turnover, and preplanning meetings as required.
  • Monitor monthly financial figures and take proactive action to prevent losses and maximize profitability.
  • Assist with tracking labor productivity.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to estimate projects.
  • Perform basic estimating using estimating software.
  • Assist in producing and populating scope and proposal letters.
  • Order materials and services and coordinate shipping and delivery with the field team as necessary.

Harris expands into Colorado through multiple strategic acquisitions. June 2, 2026 Harris has expanded its national footprint into Colorado through the acquisition of three companies serving the region's mechanical systems, controls and building automation markets. The move establishes a strong operating base for Harris in Colorado and significantly broadens the company's presence across the Mountain West. The expansion began with the acquisition of Colorado-based temperature controls company D.R. Associates (DRA), effective May 4. Founded in Denver more than 20 years ago, DRA has built a strong reputation for delivering dependable temperature control solutions tailored to the needs of Colorado businesses. The company serves customers across industries including healthcare, manufacturing and commercial facilities. Effective June 1, Harris also acquired Climate Engineering (CEI) and Centennial Controls (CCI). CEI and CCI bring complementary expertise in mechanical systems, HVAC solutions and building automation throughout Colorado. Together, the companies have supported a wide range of commercial and industrial projects across the region, helping customers improve building performance, visibility and operational efficiency through advanced mechanical and controls solutions. Their strong technical capabilities, customer-focused approach and deep local relationships further strengthen Harris' ability to serve customers across Colorado.
