We’re actively seeking a talented Manager & Associate Actuary to join our pricing team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE. This fulltime role can be on-site or hybrid.
As a Manager & Associate Actuary you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by leading the transaction pricing team for our Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business. You will work closely and collaboratively with numerous areas including Pricing and Product Development, Risk Management, Modeling within the Institutional Division and across the enterprise. The Institutional Division is a rapidly growing and innovative Division, as such this role providesa great opportunity to continue to enhance the pricing process, think outside the box, and build oneself as an expert on the pricing of innovative products that are both novel to the company and the insurance industry.

If you are experienced in the PRT market and are a self-starter with a strong technical background and experience leading a transaction team, you would make a great fit for this role.
How You’ll Help Move Us Forward:
Lead a team of actuarial students and pricing analysts through the transaction process.
Develop pricing and product solutions, andrecommend assumptions for PRT pricing.
Collaborate with Product and Sales teams to create strategic bidding strategies.
Manage PRT pricing schedules and ensure smooth operations, with the ability to predict scenarios and mitigate risks.
Present and defend pricing results to key stakeholders.
Monitor profitability and business performance for future pricing.
Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
The Experience You Bring:
FSA with 6+ years of related experience in actuarial pricing and product development.
Direct experience with Pension Risk Transfer products.
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong management, team-building, and communication skills.
Excellent project management and business partnering abilities.
Proven leadership with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to understand the big picture and mobilize initiatives in ambiguous situations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
What Makes You Stand Out:
FSA with 10+ years of actuarial experience.
Prior experience with Pension Risk Transfer transaction pricing.
Thought leader with a mindset focused on continuous improvement, sustainability, and scalability.
Ability to multitask with shifting priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining calm composure and flexibility in handling urgent requests.
Self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
VBA coding experience and proficiency in related programming languages.
Experience with actuarial modeling systems, particularly Prophet.

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting.
