Requirements
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
  • TIPS or CARE beverage service certification is desired, or the ability to obtain the certification is required.
  • At least one year of previous guest service experience is required.
  • Demonstrated customer service, attention to detail, and ability to perform repetitious duties in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • Ability to speak, understand, and write English to meet guests’ needs is required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift is required.
  • Ability to continuously walk, stand, carry, and lift throughout the shift is required.
  • Availability to work at least two of Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evenings is required.
Responsibilities
  • Anticipate and respond to guests in a friendly, positive, and timely manner while providing high-quality service.
  • Follow the guest service recovery program, suggest ideas, and respond to feedback to maximize guest satisfaction scores.
  • Listen attentively, take orders accurately, and use proper serving techniques.
  • Learn specials and promotions and actively upsell menu items to maximize revenue potential.
  • Follow health regulations, local liquor laws, and company cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures.
  • Complete side work, including cleaning the restaurant, server stations, coffee stations, and coolers; vacuuming; removing trash; and stocking supplies.
  • Handle cash and process financial transactions properly while following cost-control procedures to reduce expenses and waste.
  • Serve food and beverages and maintain a clean and safe work area in accordance with company and local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Follow procedures for guest and associate incidents and hotel emergency procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize duties to produce the required workload while following attendance, grooming, work-rule, and department procedures.
  • Attend required department and hotel meetings.
  • Take room service orders, assist the bartender, collaborate with other departments, and complete assigned duties within or outside the normal scope of responsibilities.
