About the Job

Responsibilities

  • Determine the equipment’s operational parameters based on technical needs, customer requirements, and marketing input; identify gaps requiring additional data, characterization, or documentation and initiate plans to address them.
  • Create a formal characterization plan covering all areas of operation that affect final tool performance, including the source and AMU magnet.
  • Generate, maintain, and regularly update an organized, accessible data package documenting the tool’s current operational window and specifications for marketing, sales, and internal customers; plan and collect relevant information and produce reports, technical notes, and application best-methods documents.
  • Monitor new hardware and procedures introduced on the tool set and assist with their definition, characterization, and documentation.
  • Collect and maintain information about installed-base customers, including their processes, technology nodes, beta-site status, and production volumes.
  • Collect and document internal SPC-type tool performance information, including repeatability, particles, manufacturing uptime, and other relevant metrics.
  • Engage with customers to identify tool performance areas requiring further characterization, including new processes and applications.
  • Work with Systems Engineers and Equipment Technologists on customer tool demonstrations by reviewing initial requests and technical requirements, determining feasibility, and reviewing requirements with customers as needed.
  • Assist with running wafers, setting up recipes, and reviewing system qualification before customer wafers are run; ensure tool performance meets customer requirements.
  • Write and distribute demonstration reports to customers, follow up on tool performance including yield and charging, and distribute relevant information internally.
  • Provide marketing and engineering with feedback on tool performance as characterization advances; help determine and document operating specifications for new processes or hardware.
  • Provide competitive differentiating data for marketing; collect and maintain information on competitor tools and processes, identify tool strengths and weaknesses, and help determine action plans to strengthen product positioning.
  • Identify new tool applications through customer, marketing, and literature research; initiate plans and joint customer development programs to evaluate tool performance for those applications.
  • Communicate and coordinate required tool upgrades, including hardware and software, within engineering and disseminate information to other departments.
